A large disability charity is seeking to appoint a Public Affairs Manager to raise the political profile of the charity among politicians and other key stakeholders. The successful candidate will use their political judgement and public affairs experience to build relationships with key stakeholder ranging from MPs to think tanks. They will promote the political profile of the charity and put them at the forefront of the new Government s agenda.


The main duties include:

- Develop and implement a strategy to build support for the charity within government

- Building and managing key relationships with Parliamentarians and other key contacts promoting awareness

- Coordinating and writing briefings and speeches for Parliamentarians, high profile supporters and senior management

- Creating opportunities to influence through networks and coalitions

- Devising and delivering key activity at the party political conferences


The skills required include:

- A minimum of 3 years experience in a public affairs or similar related field

- An in depth knowledge or local and central government structures

- The ability to maintain and develop strong networks throughout Whitehall

- Third sector experience would be looked upon favourably
